A Personal Experience: Meeting My Inner Guide

Back in 2017, I faced a crossroads in my life, unsure whether to stay in a stable but unfulfilling job or pursue a passion project. Feeling lost, I turned to a guided meditation to quiet my mind. As I relaxed deeply, breathing slowly, I asked, “What should I do?” In that calm state, an image emerged—a gentle figure who referred to himself as Ezekiel. This presence filled me with a sense of courage and clarity, urging me to trust my heart. I felt a clear message.

I asked for a sign to confirm what I had experienced, and that month I was shown rainbows almost every single day. This in itself should have been enough, but it didn’t bring me the confidence I needed. Speaking to this guide, I explained that rainbows were too common and I would need something more impactful as a sign. That’s when I was shown the rainbow in the video above. And, just like that, I began to trust my  inner guidance.

Over the next few weeks, I returned to this meditation, each time connecting with that same sense of guidance. Small steps led to opportunities I hadn’t imagined. That inner guide became a trusted ally, helping me build a life aligned with my purpose. This experience taught me that our inner wisdom is always available, waiting for us to listen.

Practical Exercise: Inner Guides Meditation

Ready to meet your inner guides? This 15–20-minute meditation will help you enter an altered state and connect with your spiritual allies. Find a quiet space, grab a notebook for reflections, and let’s begin.

Step 1: Create a Calm Space

  • Choose a comfortable spot where you won’t be disturbed. Dim the lights or light a candle to set a soothing mood.
  • Keep a notebook nearby to record insights after the meditation.
  • Set an intention, such as, “I’m open to meeting my inner guide for clarity and support.”

Step 2: Enter an Altered State

  • Sit or lie down, close your eyes, and take 10 deep breaths. Inhale through your nose for four counts, hold for four, and exhale for six.
  • Visualize a warm, soft light enveloping you, relaxing your body from head to toe. With each breath, feel yourself sinking into a peaceful state.
  • If thoughts arise, let them drift away like leaves on a stream, returning to your breath.

Step 3: Invite Your Inner Guide

  • Silently ask, “Who is my inner guide?” or “What guidance do I need?” Stay open to any form—a figure, voice, feeling, or symbol.
  • Imagine a safe, welcoming place, like a garden or cozy room. Invite your guide to appear. Notice their presence without judgment. They might be a person, animal, or even a light.
  • Ask a question, such as, “What do I need to know?” or “How can I move forward?” Trust the first response—whether it’s a word, image, or sensation.

Step 4: Anchor the Connection

  • Thank your guide for their presence, even if the experience feels subtle. Visualize a symbol of this connection, like a star or key, to recall later.
  • Affirm, “I trust my inner wisdom to guide me.” Feel this trust settling into your body.
  • Imagine your guide’s energy supporting you as you move toward your goals.

Step 5: Return and Reflect

  • Slowly bring awareness back to your body, wiggling your fingers and toes. Take three deep breaths and open your eyes.
  • Write in your notebook: What did your guide look like or feel like? What message did you receive? Note any emotions or insights.
  • Practice this meditation regularly—daily or weekly—to deepen your connection.
